Delft-style Tobacco Jar by Mottahedeh

Blue and white makes everything better - especially when it’s a Delft-style jar made by Mottahedeh. This is a Historic Charleston reproduction based on an 18th-century Dutch Delft tobacco jar. Jars like this were made to hold different tobaccos and were often labeled with names like “Schosse,” with decoration referencing the overseas tobacco trade. Mottahedeh later reproduced the design as seen here. I love the brass lid, and at 14.5 in tall with a 8 in base. This is the perfect flower vase when it’s not displayed on yourself.
